Where Dogs Find Hope and Homes

Perkins County Animal Shelter

PCAS is a shelter for dogs located in Grant, NE. We are a low-kill (only in extreme health or aggression cases) non-profit organization and operate on donations only.

Find a stray dog or need to surrender your pet?

Please call us at 308-352-2630. For strays, we can look into our system for rabies tag identification numbers, and we can also scan for a microchip in-person.

We currently have a waiting list for dog surrenders. Please call us with your information to be put on our waiting list, and we will call you when we have a spot open up for your pet.

We have a $35 stray and surrender fee to help keep our shelter running as we rely solely on donations.

Donate online: We are working on our 501(c)(3) PayPal profile. We receive these donations immediately once it is set up!

Donate in-person by dropping off cash or checks made out to Perkins County Animal Shelter. We are located in the Perkins County Veterinary Hospital at 68 S. Central Ave. in Grant, NE.

Donate your time when we need volunteers to transfer dogs to the airport or other local communities. Contact us for details.

Donate used items by bringing items to our shelter that you may no longer need for your pets. We always need towels, toys, collars, blankets, treats, beds, leashes, etc.

Donate through our Amazon Wishlist by purchasing items that we need. The items get delivered straight to our shelter's front door!

Ways you can donate to the animals and success of PCAS

Our adoption fee ranges; however, most dogs are $250. Purebred and highly-adoptable that tend to find homes quicker have higher adoption fees that vary as they leave a financial legacy that continues to help the animals that remain at our shelter for a longer amount of time.

I can’t say enough good about these folks and the kind veterinarian that operates this shelter. They function solely on donations and It sounded that prior to this there were very few to no options for unwanted dogs in the area. The puppy I got had been there several weeks and the vet even took him home with her to socialize him. Their description of him was so accurate as far as his personality. Great people doing good things for animals. Thank you for all you do!

We got our puppy from Perkins County Animal Shelter. He is wonderful and so was the staff. The adoption process was efficient, and the staff was so kind and knowledgeable. So happy!

PCAS was nothing short of amazing during the process of adopting our pup, Kacy. Everyone is so friendly, welcoming, kind, and helpful. When my husband and I decided to set up a meet and greet with Kacy and our dogs, the staff members were wonderful help and very flexible. Additionally, Dr. Jensen is extremely caring. Everyone was patient with our dogs and the decision making process as we made sure Kacy was a great fit. You can tell the staff at PCAS truly care about the well-being of animals!

I adopted Drake almost 10 years ago, he was 4 at this time, brought him back to NYC with me on that day, and he is still with us! He just turned 14 September 1st, and he starts to show aging signs.. but we are so lucky to have home with us. my daughter is 4.5, and she thinks he will live for ever! I hope so too!
